HOW THE HGM MILL WORKS

Three stages. One controlled air circuit.

The HGM mill combines layered grinding pressure with dynamic classification. Coarse particles return to the grinding zone; only qualified powder leaves the system. That closed loop is the key to a narrow, repeatable product size.

01

Feed & distribute

Pre-crushed material enters through the skirt-belt feeder and is evenly distributed to the upper rotary table.

02

Grind & recirculate

Three or four layers of rollers orbit and rotate in the grinding ring raceways. Oversize is returned for another pass.

03

Classify & collect

A high-pressure centrifugal fan carries qualified powder to the classifier and pulse bag filter. Clean air exits through the silencer.

Design intent

Easy-to-understand operation, sealed negative pressure, fewer moving wear points and fast access for routine service.

Higher output per kW

Reference output can be more than twice a traditional Raymond route at similar fineness and motor power.

Finer, wider adjustment

Set the classifier for a product range from 150 to 3000 mesh, with D97 ≤ 5 μm in suitable applications.

Wear life that pays back

Forged wear-resistant rollers and rings support a 2–5 year reference life when processing calcium carbonate and calcite.

Clean, quiet production

Pulse filtration, silencing and sealed negative pressure help reduce dust escape and workshop noise.

APPLICATIONS & MATERIALS

One platform.
Many powder markets.

Choose the product first, then let INNOVATE match the grinding pressure, classifier speed, dust collection and packing route. The HGM platform is suited to non-flammable, brittle materials below Mohs hardness 6.

WHY ULTRAFINE

When your market needs more than
a coarse powder, HGM is the clear step up.

Traditional route

Raymond mill / ball mill

  • Typically stops around 325 mesh for a single coarse grinding stage
  • Ball mill circuits need more space, media and classification steps
  • Higher transfer losses and more manual dust points
  • Wear and maintenance can be spread across more equipment
VS
Choose by
total cost per ton
INNOVATE HGM route

Three-ring / four-ring ultrafine mill

  • 150–3000 mesh adjustable fineness in a closed classification loop
  • Integrated grinding, classification, collection and negative pressure
  • Higher output at comparable power; lower energy use in the guide reference
  • Forged wear parts, simple access and a line designed for your material

FAQ

Clear answers before
you choose a mill.

Still comparing options? Send us your feed material, target mesh and desired capacity. We will reply with a practical recommendation rather than a generic brochure.

What fineness can the HGM mill produce?+

The standard adjustable range is approximately 150–3000 mesh (106–4.1 μm). Final fineness depends on material properties, classifier settings and process conditions.

Which materials are suitable?+

Calcite, limestone, dolomite, barite, talc, gypsum, mica, graphite, kaolin, bentonite, pyrophyllite, fluorite and 100+ other non-flammable brittle materials below Mohs hardness 6.

Can the mill process calcium carbonate for filler or coating?+

Yes. Calcium carbonate and calcite are common HGM applications. We recommend a material test to confirm whiteness, feed moisture, target D97 and capacity.

What feed size does the mill accept?+

The reference feed size in the HGM guide is ≤20 mm after pre-crushing. A hammer crusher or other suitable pre-crusher can be included in the complete line.

How is product fineness controlled?+

A dynamic centrifugal classifier separates qualified powder from coarse particles. Variable-frequency speed regulation makes adjustment easier and helps keep particle size consistent.

How does the HGM mill control dust?+

The line works under negative pressure with sealed air routing, a pulse bag filter and a silencer. The guide cites dust-removal efficiency of approximately 99–99.5% for the filter system.

How long do grinding rollers and rings last?+

Wear life varies by material, hardness, feed size and operating practice. The product guide references 2–5 years for calcium carbonate and calcite in suitable conditions.

Do you provide installation and commissioning?+

Yes. INNOVATE provides layout guidance, foundation and alignment support, commissioning assistance and full operator training, remotely or on site by arrangement.

Can you design the whole powder production line?+

Yes. The standard line can include feeder, main mill, classifier, pulse bag filter, fan, motor, pipeline, silencer, control cabinet and optional crusher, elevator, silo and packing machine.

How do I choose between HGM60, HGM80, HGM100 and HGM125?+

Start with target output, product fineness and operating hours. Share your material and capacity goal and our engineers will recommend the model, configuration and utilities.

Can I buy original spare parts separately?+

Yes. We supply original rings, rollers, classifier impellers, turntables, pivot pins, filter bags and related components with model matching and technical support.

How quickly can I get a quotation?+

Send the material, desired mesh, capacity, moisture and destination. A technical sales engineer will normally respond with the next information needed for a configured quotation.
